December 14th - ASTD Booktalk & Potluck - Verbal Judo
December is tradition time.  Our tradition is to hold a Book Talk and to review something of importance to adult educators, workforce trainers, managers who train staff on the job, and others interested in communicating for effective change.
For December 2011,
we are planning a potluck - bring something that will serve 4 - 5 and the required serving utensil. We will have disposable plates and utensils, napkins, and cups.  May we inspire you to 'think healthy' in your potluck choices?
Set up at 11:30, and enjoy the time together. ASTD's meeting room is reserved until 1:30 PM so that informal dialogue continues and builds your network.
Verbal Judo

We will be discussing VERBAL JUDO, a text that emphasizes the importance of work choice.  For trainers and managers, no tool is more used than words!
Plan to read the book or watch some of the YouTube presentations prior to December 14th (but if you don't, come anyway!).  We will share food and chat informally about the book.
Please bring something to share.  We will have paper plates, napkins, plastic ware, tea bags and cups - you bring the veggies, protein, dessert, etc. The Cafe is open so if the potluck does not feature something you like, you can get a meal and still be part of everything.
