Next Meeting December 11 2013
Quiet, the Power of Introverts!, a recent book by Susan Cain, addresses the cultural shift from the quiet, observant leader to the handshaking, smiling, good-in-front-of-a-crowd personality and how this sea change affects our businesses, our schools, and our economy. Led by Mary Rydesky, this booktalk is one for managers, parents, trainers, students, and the generally curious sort who were the last to raise their hands in class....
Mary has been in education and training since age ten when she started a neighborhood summer school where the kids wanted to participate. They would pelt her bedroom window to awaken her for early arrival and stay all day! She continued her life as a trainer, working in K-12 in both the special needs populations of highly gifted and learning-challenged students prior to becoming an college & university instructor. She continues in this role today as an instructor in Business Management for Wayland University. Additionally, she presents workforce learning in live seminars and via distance delivery, specializing in change management for companies and careers through her company, Transition Management. She is especially attuned to the quiet ones....
